We just spent nearly 10 days in VA visiting my family. We stayed a little longer than we usually do because we probably won't be back for a quite a bit. Come November, we just can't imagine flying anywhere right away with twins and a soon to be 2 year old who, so far, has proven to be a pretty terribly flyer. Seriously, we went as far as to buy Benjamin his own seat this time even though he is still of age to be a lap child. We gave him new toys, stickers and books and brought along his Elmo DVDs and plenty of snacks...all of those items entertained him for maybe 20 minutes total of our 3 hour flight. You can imagine how the rest went.
We didn't make any plans for our time in VA. We just wanted to rest when possible and spend time with family. I had to keep reminding myself to pull out my camera to snap a few pictures. I didn't want to come home with nothing to show from our visit. I managed to photograph a few of our days and here's the first: Sadie's first birthday! We're thrilled that we were able to be in town not only for her actual birthday, but for her first party too! Here's a few snapshots from the day...
The theme was ladybugs if you can't tell :) My mom made Sadie's adorable little smash cake! Benjamin got several outfit changes in the span of the 2 hour party because his fun grandpa (my dad) decided to let him play in the water table multiple times, ha!
Happy 1st Birthday, sweet Sadie! We love you, little girl!
