Sesame Street Live

Last weekend we took Benjamin to his first big show - Sesame Street Live! The morning of, we told him we were going to see Elmo, but obviously he didn't truly grasp the concept. Still, we were really excited to take him because we knew he was going to love it.

The show was at Reliant Arena which is conveniently located close to Susie's apartment and she agreed to watch the babies for us while we were at the show. And bonus! Matt's parents were visiting her and Lucy for the weekend so they were able to help out with that babies too and we all had lunch together after the show.

As we walked into the arena, I noticed tons of kids wearing the same Elmo shirt that Benjamin had on. Not surprising since the shirt is from Target and everyone and their uncle shops there ;)

We wanted Benjamin to have the full experience (read: WE wanted to have the full experience) so we spent more than was necessary on a light up spinning toy and a t-shirt for our little man...

He was pretty in awe of his spinning toy, until the show started. Then he looked like this for the first 20 minutes...

He was completely mesmerized! After 20 minutes, it was like he realized what he was seeing and he started squealing in delight and screaming all of the characters names as he was seeing them.

There was a brief intermission, and again, as a part of the experience, we bought him a soft pretzel.

The show was, thankfully, only an hour long (with a 15 minute intermission) which was the perfect amount of time. Benjamin started getting restless over the last 10 minutes, but did really well throughout the whole show. We had so much fun with our boy!

  1. So fun! My twin sis's little boy loves Elmo and I'm sure this would have been the most fun day ever for him :)
