Weekly Round Up

It's late and I'm tired and totally ready for bed, but I've ignored the blog for over a week now so it's time to post a few quick pictures!

My dad's birthday was on May 26th so Benjamin sent him this picture...

Last weekend we packed up the car and drove up to Poppa and Goon's house for the long weekend. We relaxed around the house and spent a good portion on Sunday afternoon visiting Matt's grandparents, Mimi and Papa. Benjamin sure enjoyed the time with his great grandparents and showing them how he likes to jump!

Benjamin's cousin Brandon was visiting for the weekend too and he came along!

Mimi and Papa have a huge tree in their front yard that Matt remembers climbing...

Daddy wanted Benjamin to enjoy the tree as much as he did as a child!

Benjamin wasn't so sure what to think about the tree quite yet.

Later that evening we went back to Poppa and Goonie's house. Benjamin was completely worn out, but managed to wake up for a quick bath before bed. We didn't bring his whale tub with us so we decided the kitchen sink was the next best thing. Our baby is growing up so fast and insisted on cleaning himself off!

Scrub, scrub, scrub...

"Oh darn, think I missed a spot..."

"Excuse me, a little privacy please?"

He's not quite sure how to wash his hair yet so Daddy still has to help with that ;)

...since Daddy doesn't want Benjamin to be afraid of the water he sometimes pours water on his head and let's it run down his face...

He never seems to mind at all. In fact, he remains quite happy!

We left Dallas on Monday morning and drove back to Houston. Baby B was still so tired from such a fun weekend that he slept for the entire 4.5 hour drive home! Made it easy for us because we didn't have to stop to feed or change him!

It was H-O-T when we got home and we considered taking the little man to the pool for the very first time, but with a still-tired baby on our hands we decided not to expose him to the pool crowd on the very first weekend it was open.

Instead, we bought him a little baby pool and let him splash around on our driveway!

Thank you for the swim clothes, Grandma!

We love this little side profile!

It takes a good man and a great dad to sit in a mini baby pool on his driveway where he can be seen by all :)

Benjamin had fun splashing in his pool. Looks like we have a little water baby! Good thing too because he just had his first swim lesson this past Friday and he did great! Pics to come in the next post...

Goodnight!
