Much to my dismay, my mom had to head back to VA yesterday after a wonderful 2 week stay. She was SUCH a huge help to us and we are so thankful she (along with her husband and my sister) was able to take so much time out of her busy schedule to stay with us for as long as she did. She cooked and cleaned like crazy, washed every piece of laundry, took care of Benjamin when we were in desperate need of naps and even fed my visiting friends! Thank you, Mom! We miss you a ton and Benjamin sure misses his grandma already!
As much as we hated to see them go, we also knew it was time for us to figure out how to take care of Benjamin and handle everything else that is a part of daily life on our own without the outside help. It's almost as though the longer my mom stayed, the more I feared that I wouldn't be able to get anything done around the house without her. Well, I'm happy to say that so far we've managed to take Benjamin on his first walk around our neighborhood, give him a bath, watch a little TV together while he napped, leave him in his crib in his room for the first time over night and visit some friends! We even managed to fit little 2 hour stretches of sleep in there! I think we're going to do just fine... :)
And if we're near breaking down, thankfully we'll only need to make it to Friday when PoppaGoon are due for a visit for the weekend ;)
One week old! (This was Tuesday of last week).
Benjamin's first walk around our neighborhood! (First baby = parents photograph everything)
We're going to have to take him on another walk because he didn't manage to see too much of our neighborhood this time around ;)
12 days old :)
Also 12 days old (today)...after yet another outfit change. This kid goes through outfits like clothes are going out of style!
This afternoon Benjamin got to meet his new friend, Judah, who is only 6 days younger than him!
(Matt is holding Judah in this picture and Jorden is holding Benjamin).
Unfortunately, neither of the boys were awake to meet each other. Hopefully next time! :)

I just got finished scrolling through your blog catching up on the past few posts. We ended up getting that same PBK bedding for Natalie's twin bed (in the pink color scheme, of course). I love it! So cute :)
